This is the privacy notice for DesignMyBlind. The short version: we do not track you. We set no cookies, run no analytics, show no ads, and have no affiliate relationship with any retailer we list. This page explains the little that does happen.
What we do not collect
We use no cookies, pixels, fingerprinting, analytics or advertising scripts of any kind, and we load nothing from third parties. There are no accounts to create and no newsletter. The only place we ever ask for anything is the optional contact form below; otherwise we never ask for your name, email address or any other personal detail, and there is nothing about your visit to sell or share.
Your shortlist
The shortlist feature saves the blinds you pick in your browser's local storage - a small store on your own device. It is never sent anywhere: it stays on the device you built it on, we cannot see it, and it does not follow you between devices. You can empty it at any time with the Clear button in the shortlist, or by clearing your browser's storage for this site. Because it is essential to a feature you choose to use, it needs no consent banner.
Contact form
If you use the contact form, the message you write and the email address you give are sent to Formspree, the service that delivers contact forms to us, and then emailed on to us. Formspree processes it only to pass your message along, and we use your email address solely to reply. We do not add you to any list, and we store your message nowhere else. Formspree's own privacy policy is at formspree.io.
Server logs
Like every website, the server that hosts DesignMyBlind keeps standard access logs: your IP address, the time of each request, the page you asked for and your browser type. We use these only to keep the site running and secure - for example to diagnose a fault or spot abuse - under our legitimate interest in operating the site. They are not used to profile or identify you, and they are removed on our host's normal rolling schedule.
Links to retailers
When you click through to a retailer you leave DesignMyBlind for their own website, which has its own privacy policy. Our links are plain links: no affiliate tags, no click tracking, no redirect. We do not know whether you buy anything, and we earn nothing if you do.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over any personal information held about you, including the right to ask what is held, to have it corrected or erased, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). In our case there is very little to hold - essentially the server logs above. To exercise any of these rights, or simply to ask a question, email [email protected].
Changes to this notice
If we change how any of this works we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change ever means we begin collecting something we do not today, we will say so plainly.
