DesignMyBlind is an independent, ad-free reference site for UK window blinds. We are not a shop and we sell nothing. We pull together what the major UK retailers offer, compare it, and write plain buying guides so you can choose well and pay a fair price. This page explains how that is done and how we stay independent.
What we are
We are a small editorial site, not a retailer and not a marketplace. When you find a blind here, you buy it from the retailer who sells it, on their own website, at their own price. We have nothing to gain from which one you pick.
How we choose the picks
Every recommendation is an editorial judgement, chosen on merit. We look across the UK retailers we track, weigh up fabric, construction, fitting options and price, and name the pick that does each job best - not the one that pays the most, because none of them pays us anything. Where a guide names a value pick, a patterned pick and a premium pick, that spread is deliberate: different windows want different answers.
How the prices work
The prices on each page come from the retailers' own published made-to-measure pricing, gathered automatically and refreshed regularly. Because a blind's price scales with its size, every guide lets you enter your own width and drop and see the real price at that size from each retailer, rather than a headline "from" figure that rarely matches the window you are buying. Prices change, so always confirm the final figure on the retailer's site before you order.
Comparing the same blind across shops
UK retailers do not weave their own cloth - many sell the same wholesale fabrics and the same licensed designer prints under their own range names. Where we can see that the same design is sold by more than one shop, we say so and line the retailers up by price, so you can compare the identical blind rather than taking the first listing you find. We describe these as the same design where the evidence points that way; we do not claim to know who manufactures it.
How we stay independent
We have no affiliate relationships with any retailer we list. Our links are plain links: no affiliate tags, no click tracking, no redirect.
